A network printer is an IT managed printer that district devices can wirelessly connect to and print when using the district internet. Personal computers and devices cannot connect to network printers. District devices cannot print to network printers when using a hotspot or other personal wifi.
1. In the search bar next to the Windows Start button type in the word "Printer", then Click on 'Printers & Scanners' in the best match section.
2. Click on the '+ Add a printer or scanner' button
3. Once all of the available network printers are listed, click on the printer you want to add and then click 'Add device'
4. It may take a few minutes for the driver to install. When the driver is fully installed the printer will say 'Ready'. You may have to scroll to the top of the list to see the newly installed printer.
**Network printer installations are profile and computer specific**
Example: If Jane logs into computer A she will need to add the library network printer in order to print.
If she continues to log into computer A she will not have to add the library network printer again.
If Jane logs into computer B she will have to add the library network printer.
If Jane logs into computer A or B she will not have to install the printer but if she uses a new computer then she will have to add the printer.
If John logs into computer A for the first time he will have to add the library network printer as well. Even though Jane added it, it only shows up on her profile. John will still need to add the printer.
